Annual Flea Market

This year (and future years) there will be only ONE flea market at the Library.  We do the flea market as a community service to give everyone in El Rito and surrounding communities an opportunity to sell their items they no longer need.  The flea market will be on Saturday, July 28, 2012 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.  Bring your own tables and chairs.

Santa Fe Opera - "Tosca"

We have again received free tickets to the Santa Fe Opera.  This year's performance is "Tosca" as part of Youth Night.  The date is Monday, June 25, 2012, starting at 8:30 pm.  We have 15 adult tickets and 20 youth tickets.  We will be sharing a bus with the Abiquiu Library (we will have to drive to Abiquiu).  If you are interested in attending the Opera, please call the Library at 581-4608 and reserve your ticket(s).  You are not obligated to ride the bus, you can drive yourselves to the Opera.

"Ah, Tosca! Bewitched by her glamour and charisma, even the hated Baron Scarpia called her la divina. See why Puccini’s Tosca became the defining role for Bernhardt and Callas, and now the soprano Amanda Echalaz — whose performances as Tosca in London had European critics groping for superlatives. In her much-anticipated American debut in Santa Fe’s new production. She is joined by debut artist Andrew Richards as Tosca’s lover Cavaradossi. Thomas Hampson returns to Santa Fe after an absence of almost three decades. Raymond Aceto and Hampson share honors as the villainous Scarpia. Chief Conductor Frédéric Chaslin is on the podium."
